Why we access Health & Fitness data
Live Steps reads your step count from Apple Health to display your daily steps in the app, on the Home Screen widget, and in Live Activities. This is the only Health data the app accesses, and it is used solely to show your step progress and goal completion. The app does not access any other health or fitness categories.
On-device only, no cloud services
All data stays on your device. Live Steps has no backend server, makes no network requests, and connects to no cloud services of any kind. Step data and app preferences are stored locally using on-device shared storage so the widget and Live Activity can read the same data. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere.
What we don't do
- No account is required.
- No analytics, advertising SDKs, or third-party trackers are used.
- No personal data is sold, shared, or disclosed to data brokers or any third party.
- No data leaves your device, ever.
Revoking access
If you revoke Health access in iOS Settings, the app can no longer read your step count and will display no data. You can re-enable access at any time.
